Early 2009 was the time that Austar Realty went from one office to three. This stimulated a period of strategic growth for the company over the next seven years. Today we have nine offices, 85 salespeople and sixteen support staff.
Four years ago Austar Realty became part of the LJ Hooker group and together the two brands have become synonyms with real estate in West Auckland.
The growth of the company has been nothing short of staggering and Austar is now recognised as the fastest growing and most successful company in the LJ Hooker group worldwide.

With over 17 years experience in the Property Market and over 15 years of Business management and leadership Amy has now combined her passion for property and people and is proudly helping lead this amazing team of Salespeople and staff, fondly referred to as the “Austar family”.
What is Amy’s vision? To build relationships within the team and the community, promote brand awareness and to ensure our salespeople have the tools and know how to do their job better than anyone else in the marketplace.

After a stellar 3 decades, Craig Smith has forged a career unequaled in West Auckland Real Estate.
With direct involvement in 1400 sales equalling a record-breaking $600,000,000 in turnover he has won the supreme salesperson’s annual award with Harveys and LJ Hooker 8 times. These peerless selling skills Craig now brings to the table in his new role as CEO for the Austar Group, gaining great pleasure from educating and inspiring a sales team of 85 based in 9 offices.
Working closely with Austar co-founder Len Day and General Manager Amy Anderson they are committed to taking Austar to new heights as they continue to pursue the vision for Austar to be the Best Real Estate Agency in Auckland.

Len entered the real estate industry a little over 29 years ago. Starting as a salesperson in Cairns Australia where after a short time he was asked to become a manager in the business he was working in. Whilst being an extremely successful sales person, Len’s leadership skills started to shine through as well as his auctioneering. After 10 years in the Australian real estate industry, Len was lured to Auckland by the Harveys group in a role which included procuring and calling auctions.
During the first 18 months in Auckland Len was not only able to learn about the real estate market but also get a great feel for all parts of the city. An opportunity arose to buy a Harveys office in Blockhouse Bay which was the beginning of Austar Realty. During the next 9 years Len led the team to many successes. Another opportunity arose in 2009 to purchase the Titirangi and Green Bay office and at this point Len joined forces with one of his current partners, Craig Smith, and together they have grown the business to 10 offices during the last 8 years.
Len has recently become the Principal Officer of Austar Realty along with his role of Chairman of the board. Whilst he has relinquished his role of Auctioneer, much of his focus these days is working with individuals within the company guiding them as they strive to grow their business. He has lost none of his passion which has always been about helping people reach their full potential.
